value added service at the N-IX

For additional benefit of the participants, we have several value-added services. We kindly ask for feedback if you have any more services that might be useful.

DNS

We operate an DNS recursor, it has the name ns.n-ix.net and the IP address 194.8.57.12.

We also operate one authoritive secondary nameserver, which works autonmously. If you want to use this, please send us an email, so we can exchange the information required to set this up.

NTP

We operate an NTP server, based on GPS, i.e. a Stratum-0 Server.

NNTP

Since July 2004 we operate a News server at the N-IX. It’s name is news.n-ix.net.
